Seven lenticular animations depict mares being “covered” by stallions in a breeding shed. The work depicts behind-the-scenes activities on a stud farm in Worcestershire, England, and the process by which horses are handled in order to breed top class racehorses. Simnett has used lenticular technology to display different covering attempts. The viewers activate the scenes by moving around the octagonal room and as a consequence the act of looking becomes implicated in the act of breeding.
